Welcome to ScratchThat 2O26!

We have an amazing new team who are ready to craft a brand new issue, driven by you. Our theme is Timestamp, so get prepared to be taken back to 2016 or even 1916 as we travel through different eras, delve into reemerging trends and soak ourselves in nostalgia.

All of our departments are working hard to create something great for you. Our social media team of volunteers have all been busy practising poses for the mannequin challenge and dusting off their renegade. Don’t worry – we’re absolutely certain that none of them have been kidnapped or coerced into joining socials. And our copyediting team? They’re itching to get their hands on some new content, so keep an eye out for when our submission link goes live on the 19th of March. Until then, it’s up to the content team to produce…content. But before anything reaches you, they’ll have to recover from the emotional trauma that is structural edits first. Did you know we also have an entire team dedicated to our launch event? The launch event that you’re invited to? Well, we do. And we overheard that they’ve gone ahead and contacted every single venue in the entire world to find the perfect place for you to come and celebrate the launch of our new issue with us. The Louvre said no, but we’re sure we’ll find something equally as dope.

We also really, really want you to know that when it comes to AI, we don’t know her. Our writers and artists actually do go outside and touch grass. We can confirm that they write about grass, sketch in the grass, paint the grass, and break the grass into a hundred tiny pieces. But most importantly, they use their love and curiosity towards the world to drive their ideas and artistry, instead of asking the dreaded clankers. Everything you find in ScatchThat has been exclusively crafted by people (except, we admit, the magazine itself will likely be printed by a machine – we’re uni students, so handwriting every copy could very well be the final straw). So make sure you grab a copy, and find some grass to lie on while you read it.

Remember, we want this issue to be a reflection of you, our community, so submit some typed nostalgia of your own, receive a poem handwritten right in front of you, stick a new ScratchThat CD sticker to your laptop and have your photo snapped with our digi cams at launch night. Submissions close on April 16th, so pencil it in!

Since we’re keeping things physical and paying homage to our generation’s refound love of the textured and tangible, don’t just scroll our website – come meet us and be a part of ScratchThat!
