Relinquished Propriety is a digital work exploring stigmas revolved around masculinity stereotypes and societal constructs. Highlighting masculine features with soft lighting, contrasted with delicate butterflies creates a cohesive juxtaposition which creates an opportunity for further study to be conducted on what masculinity is and the effects these stigmas have.
Caitlin Penman is a multimedia visual artist working with photography, videography and installation works which explore human connection, emotional dissonance in modern society and the scrutiny of trauma and mental health. With a passion for psychology and a strong sense of empathy, she draws inspiration from the subjects in her images and their own personal experiences, trauma and marginalised perspectives. Caitlin is currently working to build on post production methods with mixed media and sensory manipulation installations to create more immersive experiences when viewing her work.
