the trees, swaddled in colossal nets

of their foliage, muted earthy tones

drenched in the lifeblood, thick & golden

of the sun — spilling across the world

droplets of it caught trembling

upon their leaves, sparkling with

their gentle, sleepy shiftings

with their slow, even breathing;

I wonder what they

dream of.
