The Spiral, 2020
This semester, I have been predominantly working with tattooing as a tool of both symbolism and aesthetic value. My affinity for tattooing and tattoo culture alike, stems from my love of bold and recognisable imagery. The imagery itself, is significant to me as it can usually be symbolic of ambivalent and ineffable experiences. Aside from tattoo imagery, my work also frequently draws upon specific narratives. These narratives are usually investigated through the use of class specific references. This blend of both subculture and narrative is often present in my practice and gives me the opportunity to explore layered themes.
