Wildthings

Isabella Wright and Louella Michael

Louella Michael and Isabella Wright are artists in their third year of their Bachelor of Fine Arts. The duo have consistently collaborated on previous works with plans to continue in the future. Louella’s practice explores how we perceive ourselves and others with a future focus on sublime horror. Isabella’s work investigates ways of manifesting bodily representations that focus on comfort, self-consciousness and vulnerability. @iiywt @louellas.art

Wildthings is a collaborative body of work by Louella Michael and Isabella Wright that unites the duo’s disparate/distinct studio practices in arresting images that call on the creatures of our imagination. The expressive masks hand-made by Louella, theatrically photographed on film by Bella, explore themes of identity politics and the comforting freedom of anonymity that allows one to break out of the performativity of the everyday.
