About

What is ScratchThat?

ScratchThat is QUT’s resident student-led arts magazine for emerging creatives. We publish original works of writing, visual art, and music of all forms and genres. For many of our contributors, we are their first publication in their portfolio. We strive to provide a platform for young people to publish and promote their work. Our mission is to give space to underrepresented voices and brand-new talent, with a special focus on the successes of those within our local cultural scene in Meanjin.

Since the establishment of ScratchThat in 2019, both our team and the scope of our magazine have grown. We have recently shifted our focus to print-based production, with in-house writing produced for the website weekly. We produce a fortnightly newsletter throughout semesters, and our podcast, Blatherskite, has spun off into their own project.

ScratchThat Magazine operates on Turrbal and Yuggera country. We pay our respects to the traditional custodians and recognise Elders past, present and emerging. These lands have always been places of teaching, learning and storytelling.
