“Battleground” is centred around domestic life in COVID-19 isolation and the unsafe space it can be for some through domestic violence or homelessness. The photographic series is taken from a sculptural work made using a duvet with quilting pins stuck in it to form the word ‘Battleground’ in cursive. The duvet and pins act as protection from the outside, though also demonstrates a violent disruption within a typically safe space, promoting awareness and empathy that this is life for some.
