Child Like, 2026

Scrap fabric, sewing clips & buttons

Child Like is an installation work that explores the overwhelming nostalgia of slumber parties and blanket fort building from childhood. I created this work alongside friends during a lesson about materials, where we reflected on how the colours and fabrics reminded us of our youth. We sat on the floor sharing our own experiences of childhood, recollecting a time that was a lot simpler. We reminisced on slumber parties, the freedom of childhood, and one’s lack of responsibility at that age. The work talks to the inner child in all of us, inviting us to take a seat and tuck ourselves away into this safe corner that can transport you back to your youth even if just for a moment.
