God is a DJ

Laser beams cut through
a seething mass of euphoric humanity.
Flooding the sweaty, sexed-up dance floor.

That deafening, deep bass kick-starts my heart,
again and again.
The DJ God mixes up an addictive handbag of sounds.
It slaps my face,
a cheap disco whore wanting more,
and more and more!
Okay, just a bit more.

I tilt my head back in hopeless awe.
Enter a delirium state of mind.
I have become a slave to the dance floor,
to the zombie people,
to the disco dance machine.

Disco balls swing above me.
They watch over us like
God’s eyeballs with their
glitter and futile shine.
As they implore my high, a forever climb.

My eyes are now
wide open,
with Heaven’s bliss
and Hell’s sublime.

For this evening,
my pockets fill
with company from
selfish bags of white joy,
and round, little pink delights.

The beautiful Miss Euphoria
is the dance whore that I fuck tonight.

Author and artist: Damon King a mature age student in the third and final year of a BFA in Creative Writing at QUT. Over the past decade being an artist of mixed media owned and dominated the creativity side opposed to my writing. Street art and graffiti was the starting point then came multiple exhibition’s, studios and showings on  professional levels. Art work being purchased and commissioned from all over the world while building up a healthy presence on social media and travel getting my name out there. My writing has just re-discovered it-self in the past few years and it has been an exciting ride so far so I am very interested to see where this takes me.
