Samantha Hope

Sam’s work takes form in many different mediums including: Photography, 2D paintings/drawings, sculptures, installations and ceramics. With a conceptual focus at the centre of her practice her works act as a self reflection and catharsis to investigate grief, loss and a sense of self. There is evidently a love of monochrome in her works, and cohesive colour schemes as seen in her photography. She has a strong interest in the Bauhaus, Constructivism and Cubism movements, exploring these techniques and practices in her works, along with an emphasis on light and shadows. Her photographic series take on lines of poetry along with there cinematic composition and are presented as a cohesive body of work; reminiscent of scenes from a film as if the view is hitting pause and the ‘poetry’ replaces what would usually be subtitles.
