Yellow flowers burnt on the fence,
Bushfire season again.
Reminiscing battles fought under a burning sun
Pain echoes, shots from a gun.

Millions of dead buried as one.
Closed eyes and turning to run
The fence bites, the rabbits spoil

Opening eyes and watching the sky cry
Sinking underground and into the soil
What have we done?
